At Australian Mens Assembly Inc, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, accountability, and transparency. As a registered charity with the ACNC, we ensure our operations align with legal requirements, ethical practices, and our mission: the benevolent restoration of men and the protection of their families.
Below are the key governance pillars we adhere to, designed to promote integrity, protect our stakeholders, and ensure the effective management of The Storehouse and our community resources.
We comply with the five core ACNC Governance Standards. These ensure we remain focused on our charitable purpose of benevolent relief, act lawfully, and uphold accountability to our members and the public. Our Board members act with care and diligence, in good faith, and in the best interests of AMA Inc.
We make decisions free from personal gain. All Board members and volunteers must declare any potential conflicts to ensure the Assembly's interests always come first. All disclosures are recorded in the AMA Register of Interests, and Board members sign an annual declaration.
We provide a safe "Circle of Protection" for transparency. This policy protects individuals who report misconduct, ensuring concerns can be raised confidentially via our integrity line without fear of retaliation. AMA strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against a whistleblower.
The safety of vulnerable men, young people, and families is our top priority. We implement strict vetting, including Queensland Blue Cards, for all high-impact volunteer roles. Every AMA representative is a "guardian" of the mission and must report any sign of harm or predatory behavior.
We protect your data under the Australian Privacy Principles (Privacy Act 1988). Whether you are a donor or a beneficiary of our relief programs, your personal information is handled with the utmost discretion. Only the Secretary and President have access to the full database.
All representatives of AMA Inc. must act with integrity and respect. Our Code sets the "Shoulder to Shoulder" standard for how we behave in our assemblies and in the community. No representative may use their position for personal, sexual, or financial gain.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our mission. We provide clear guidelines, training, and support to ensure everyone serving with AMA has a safe and meaningful experience. All volunteers in high-impact roles must hold a valid Queensland Blue Card and sign the Code of Conduct.
We are dedicated to rigorous financial stewardship. With "two-to-sign" bank controls and transparent reporting, we ensure every donation is used for its intended benevolent purpose. Financial standing is presented to members annually at the AGM.
We proactively identify and mitigate operational and safety risks to ensure the long-term sustainability of the 2026 Vision. The Management Committee reviews the Association's risk profile regularly and ensures all "Responsible Persons" are trained in their fiduciary and legal duties.
We value feedback as a tool for restoration. Our policy provides a fair and timely process for resolving concerns raised by any member of the community. AMA views complaints not as a hindrance, but as an opportunity to improve our service and uphold the integrity of our mission.
